3D Modeling

Projects

For about a year now, I have been spending more and more time on my latest hobby, 3D modeling.

I had been involved in the creation of Addons for some pc simulation games in the past, but the actual modeling of 3D objects was new to me.

I have tried a number of programs. I tried Gmax, Truespace, Blender and Google Sketchup, which I use on a regular basis. I also use Delftship on the side.I have stuck with Google Sketchup for now, due to the easy use of the program, aswell as the much less steep learning curve compared to other programs. I could relatively quickly make reasonable models, and that was pleasant enough to stick with it.

But I am still getting a feel for some of the other programs too, to overcome certain limitations in the Sketchup program. For rendering, I use Carrara 5.0.

My models so far revolve around a nautical theme. This is due to my interest in the PC simulation game Ship Simulator 2008. My aim would be to develop vessels for this game.

Similar, some vessels I have made are aimed at yet another PC game, Virtual Sailor.

Each finished 3D Model has its own page on this site. You can find them under "3D Models".
These are however only the models. There are no active addons of my hand yet,for any of the mentioned simulators. These might come, time/skills provided, in the near future.
